I have been a member of the PTCA since its inception in 1993.
I am the West Coast Liaison and Rescue Contact for the western states.

I strongly support the need for a parent club designed with the purpose of preserving the hunting abilities of this unique breed, promoting Patterdale Terriers, rescue, and maintaining accurate recording of their pedigrees.
For all of these reasons all of my dogs are registered with the
Patterdale Terrier Club of America.

In 2000, I received a Lifetime Achievement Award and became a Honorary Lifetime Member.

In 2002, two of my Patterdales were honored with "Hall of Fame" awards. Again in 2005, another one of our stud dogs received the coveted "Hall of Fame." Summer of 2005 brought yet another HOF,
when Desiree earned her HOF.
To date, we have four PTCA "Hall Of Fame" dogs and eight PTCA Show Champions.

Each year the PTCA holds a National Show, to allow Patterdale owners to get together, compete, and show off their dogs. In 2005 MQH proudly sponsored the "Best In Show" award at the National Show.
We lost "Desiree" the Friday before the 2005 Nationals and rushed to sponsor the Veterans Classes for Desiree's legacy. To my amazement the PTCA honored this fine terrier by establishing a Veteran's memorial trophy in her name as we do every year, we will continue to support the Patterdale Terrier Club Of America for their work promoting the hunting ability of the breed, maintaining accurate pedigrees and records, Patterdale rescue, and the annual PTCA Show.

In 2007 PTCA began sanctioning regional shows, if you would like to hold a regional in your area contact PTCA.

I hope every breeder recognizes the outstanding effort of the PTCA and especially Robert Burns.
Mr. Burns often sifts through hand written, misspelled, jumbled pedigrees, many in a foreign language,
with only one intention, to accurately record and register each purebred Patterdale Terrier!

With members and registered dogs from 37 states and 7 countries, this is a daunting task.
PTCA is the largest Patterdale Terrier Club in the world!

Whether you hunt, show, do weight pull, agility, GTG, law enforcement, or just admire Patterdales;
I urge you to register your pup, pay the annual membership dues, and support PTCA!

As a member you will also receive a subscription to "Black Dog" magazine. The "Black Dog" magazine is mailed quarterly to every member. The newsletter is filled with information about events, pictures, hunting stories, and hunting tips for every enthusiast.
