Patterdale Terrier Club of America

I have been a charter member of the Patterdale Terrier Club of America since its inception in 1993.
As a Founding Member of PTCA, I strongly support the need for a club designed with the purpose of preserving the hunting abilities of this unique breed, promoting Patterdale Terriers, and maintaining accurate recording of Patterdale Terrier pedigrees.

In 2000, Pamela Mettrick and MQH Patterdales, received a Lifetime Achievement Award and became a Honorary Lifetime Member, for exceptional performance in promoting Patterdale Terriers.

In 2002, two of my Patterdale Terriers were honored with "Hall of Fame" awards.
Again in 2005, another one of our stud dogs received the coveted "Hall of Fame" award.
Summer of 2005 brought another "Hall Of Fame," when another MQH female Patterdale Terrier was named.
To date, we have four PTCA "Hall Of Fame"dogs

Each year the PTCA holds a Patterdale Terrier National Show and Hunt, to allow Patterdale Terrier owners to get together, compete and show off their Patterdales.
In 2005 MQH Patterdale Terriers proudly sponsored the "Best In Show" Patterdale Terrier Award at the PTCA National Show.
We lost "Desiree" the friday before the 2005 Nationals and I rushed to sponsor the Veterans Classes for Desiree's legacy.
To my amazement the PTCA honored this fine terrier by establishing a Veteran's memorial trophy in her name
As we do every year, we will continue to support the Patterdale Terrier Club Of America for their work promoting the hunting ability of the breed, maintaining accurate pedigrees and records, Patterdale rescue, and the annual PTCA Show and Hunt.

MQH is also a yearly donor and an active participant of Patterdale Rescue.

I hope every Patterdale Terrier owner recognizes the outstanding effort of the PTCA and especially Robert Burns. Mr.Burns often sifts through hand written, mispelled, jumbled pedigrees, many in a foreign language, with only one intention, to accurately record and register each purebred Patterdale Terrier!

With members and registered dogs from 37 states and 7 countries, this is a daunting task.
PTCA is the largest Patterdale Terrier Club in the world!

Whether you hunt, show, do weight pull, agility, GTG, law enforcement,or just admire the Patterdale Terrier as your breed of choice;
Every Patterdale Terrier owner should register their pup, pay their dues, and support PTCA!

As a member of PTCA you will also receive a subscription to "Black Dog" magazine. The "Black Dog" magazine is mailed quarterly to every member. The newsletter is filled with information about events, pictures, hunting stories, and hunting tips for every Patterdale Terrier enthusiast.
